Take a step back in time when you visit Whalehead, a fully restored Art Nouveau style residence originally built in the 1920s. This magnificent home has been restored to its original grandeur and is open to the public for museum tours year round. On the tour, docents will point out many of the original fixtures and pieces inside the house, including Tiffany lighting, the first elevator to exist on the Outer Banks, a restored Steinway piano, and more. Many believe the residence is haunted, and there are even two haunted tours visitors can embark on - the Daylight Ghost Tour or the Moonlight Legend, Lore & Ghost Tour. Admission prices vary depending on the tour.

Located inside Currituck Heritage Park, the museum is situated on 39 acres of pristine waterfront property, and is located in the heart of Historic Corolla. With beautiful green lawns, large shade trees, and gorgeous views, Currituck Heritage Park is a great place to have a family picnic. There are several picnic tables scattered throughout the park.
