Outer Banks NC Pet Friendly Lodging

Wipe your paws and come on in – the welcome mat is always out!

Why would you want to leave your pet behind when they could join you on a great Outer Banks vacation! Let them be part of the memories and fun times you share with family and friends. Corolla Classic Vacations has many pet friendly options that range from elegant oceanfront homes to more traditional beach accommodations.

If you know the week you are coming to Corolla, do a property search and click on the “pets” box to see what’s available. In the “Extras” section of each property description you will find specific pet limitations the home may have. All of our pet homes have a limit of 2 pets no more than 75 lbs. each, unless otherwise noted. We welcome up to two trained, housebroken pets less than 75 lbs each per rental. There is a $150 non-refundable fee for having a pet stay in a home. Once your plans are made, come on down! Currituck County has some of the most pet friendly beaches on the Outer Banks. Leashes are required, but there is not a length requirement. Please clean up after your pet; it’s the right thing to do-do!! Finally, no pets are allowed in private pools at any time.

Some things to keep in mind while traveling/vacationing with your pet:

  1. Always keep copies of current vet records with you, in case of an emergency or if you decide to board your dog. Also, don’t forget to pick up a Corolla Classic Vacations’ pet tag at check-in. Not only is it stylish, but if your pet wanders off on an adventure, they will be identified.
  2. Take plenty of fresh water and a bowl with you in case they get thirsty on the way or while on the beach! Salt water can cause upset stomachs!
  3. Remember if the sand is hot for your feet, it is quadrupley hot for theirs! Ouchhhh! The best times for enjoying the beach with your pet is early morning or later in the afternoon – they can be prone to heat stress/exhaustion during the hottest parts of the day.
  4. If you venture out for a day trip, don’t worry, you can make arrangements for “Doggie Daycare”. There are a number of veterinarian hospitals and boarding facilities to choose from.

There are also many fun things to do with your dog while on vacation. Check out “Yappy Happy Hour” at Outer Barks (Duck, NC) or let your dog choose their favorite treats at Salty Paws by Jockey’s Ridge (Nags Head, NC). The CyberDog (Kitty Hawk, NC) can set up a canine massage and Dog Nutz (Corolla, NC) can outfit your dog with some beach gear! There are a number of other pet supply stores & boutiques (Puparazzi Pet Bow-Tique and OBX Pet Gallery) on the Outer Banks-from Corolla to Manteo and beyond!

With all the fun things to do and see, please remember not to leave your dog unattended in a hot car! With all the boarding choices, we are sure if you decide to leave them at one of the facilities, they will be very comfortable.

Last but certainly not least, please send us pictures or videos of you and your pet enjoying the Outer Banks. We’d love to share your experiences with others!  Send to marketing@corollaclassicvacations.com.
