Today is a gorgeous day in Corolla,NC! Not only is the temperature on the Outer Banks expected to reach as high as 70, but there are tons of shells washed up along the shore. I think it’s the universes way of telling us to slow down and take a minute to enjoy the beauty around us.
Normally, I dash out of my car and run up to the beach access and quickly stop to snap the morning picture. Today, I couldn’t do that. I took that sign from the universe and I walked down to the beach. Just those few extra minutes won’t really change how much I get done at work but they did change how I taking on the whole day. It was great to have a few minutes to breath in the salt air and watch the beauty of it all.
I hope you can take a few minutes today and escape like I did!
There isn’t much to say about today other than: Perfect!
The wind is perfect, the sky is perfect, the ocean is perfect! I really could have spent the rest of my afternoon sitting on the beach. But then who would have been able to share this video of the ocean in Corolla,NC with you?!
It’s a cool day on the Outer Banks of NC today! The crisp air surprised me this morning. I was expecting it to be like yesterday which was in the 60s. It was also pretty cloudy this morning but the clouds had started to break up when I took this picture and now they are almost gone. Right now it’s about 45 degrees.
It looks like it’s going to be a nice weekend. Highs in the upper 50s and sunny skies. It might be a good weekend for a quick getaway to recharge before the holiday craziness! Just sayin’
When Hurricane Sandy passed off the coast of North Carolina, the Outer Banks experienced ocean side flooding which damaged a lot of homes and businesses in Kitty Hawk and on Hatteras Island.
The Beach Food Pantry was one of the places flooded and they lost everything. Corolla Classic Vacations wanted to help so we asked all of our guests and owners who checked in for Thanksgiving to bring non perishables to the office. We also asked our staff to make donations. We quickly filled up our donations table and were able to bring the first load of donations to the food pantry today. That’s right, I said first load! We will be bringing a second load by the end of the week!
If you’ve been following my posts, you know that it has been cloudy here on the Outer Banks of NC for more than a week now. We are beyond thrilled to see the blue! Just in time for Thanksgiving!
I wish there was more to report from the Outer Banks of NC. The weather is the same today as it’s been for the last 7 days. It’s gray, windy and the ocean is huge. Currently in Corolla, NC it is 54 with winds coming out of the north making it feel a lot cooler. The water is in the low 50s.
In other news, Corolla Classic Vacations asks it’s staff and Thanksgiving check-ins to donate non perishable items for the Outer Banks Food Pantry. The food pantry was flooded during Hurricane Sandy and lost all of its supplies. The Food Pantry is needed now more than ever so we want to be able to give them a great donation. We’ve had a great response from everyone and our table is quickly filling up!
It’s so great to know that our guests care about our community as much as we do. Thank you!
We’ve made it to Thanksgiving week! We had a lot of guests checking in over the weekend and still more coming in over the next couple of days. I wish I could report better weather but unfortunately the forecast is turning true for The Outer Banks of NC. We’ve got chilly temps and cloudy skies.
I bet, however, that most of the guests are just happy to be here. Cloudy weather and all!
Unfortunately it’s another dismal day in Corolla, NC. The combination of high winds and a lunar time is creating very high tides on the beach and with the cold wind coming off the ocean it’s not a great day for anything oceanfront. It is a perfect day to enjoy a hot bowl of soup from a local restaurant (I love the Crab Bisque from North Banks) and browse the shops in Tim Buck II or Monteray Shores Plaza. I’m still crossing my fingers in hopes of a good weather week for our Thanksgiving guests but it’s not looking great.
At least everyone will be surrounded by family and giving thanks in a beautiful place! Enjoy Your View!
