It was just announced that North Carolina has approved an application for a charter school in Corolla!  This is great news for the citizen of Corolla and for those who work in Corolla and have school aged children. Corolla used to have its own school but it was closed due to low population. In fact, there were only 2 families with children attending the school. How many people living in Corolla/Corova area are age appropriate for this school?     Answer in the comments below and the first person correct will receive a CCV beach bag.

Answer:  The Corolla charter school, which will be called Water's Edge Village School (WEVS pronounced "waves") has been approved! They will open their doors in August as a K-6 school for the 2012-2013 school year.  There are currently at least 28 kids, ages 0-18, living in the Corolla zip code. Of those, about 19 are age appropriate for the school. Laurette Ballato had the closest answer.
